Bush: I’m Responsible
November 25th, 2005“It is true that much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong. As president I am responsible for the decision to go into Iraq, and I’m also responsible for fixing what went wrong by reforming our intelligence capabilities. And we’re doing just that.”
-President Bush
These are words you would have never heard from Bill Clinton. In fact, I’ve not heard anyone in Washington with the exception of perhaps Sen. Joe Lieberman take responsibility for anything.
I don’t care whether you think we should be in Iraq or not. The fact is that now we have a President with the moral character to stick to the task at hand with unwaivering conviction, even when it’s not popular.
He told us in a joint address to Congress shortly after 9/11 that this would be a long, hard, sometimes ugly and unpopular road to travel. This would be a war like none ever fought before and it would not be easy.
Now it has become just what President Bush predicted. The same elected officials that cried for blood after the towers fell now want to cut and run to save their political skins. Personally, I’d rather have someone that cares more about doing the right thing than cowering to lobbyists and PAC organizations, but you can elect whoever you want # while it’s still a free country.
National Strategy for Victory in Iraq
In our effort to keep you informed, I’ve posted the following document. You can agree or disagree, but don’t argue with me about something you haven’t even read. Make sure you know what you’re talking about first.
