Note to the Rumor Mongers

I got another email from one of those notorious people who pass along anything that will make the UN or democrats look bad (true or false).  This one claimed the UN was removing the Holocaust from its educational curriculum (The UN has one of those?) like General Eisenhower warned us they would.

Here was my response.

“Once again, you’re passing around a false rumor.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/holocaust.asp

“The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the principles of Christianity are strong enough to stand on their own without the help of lies or half truths.

“The UN may be an evil, often absurd, organization, but nonsense like this just works against sane people who want to point out its real shortcomings.

“On that same note, Obama is not a Muslim.  He may be a completely misguided liberal controlled by the Democratic puppet-masters, but he’s not a Muslim.

“I appreciate hearing from you, but would appreciate it more if you check the facts before bearing false witness against your neighbor.”

I know that sounds a bit harsh, but I think it’s counter-productive and hypocritical to use lies to call the people I disagree with liars.

Raising McCain

John McCain’s speech at the Republican National Convention

My Observations
I watched John and Cindy McCain last night and was struck by the real contrast between them and the Obamas.  The Obama’s deliver inspiring speeches, but the McCains lead an inspiring life.

Most anybody who pays attention knows that John McCain was a POW in Vietnam for 5 and a half years where he was tortured tirelessly, but refused to use his status as an admiral’s son to get early release.  Senators and members of Congress know that he still chooses the right path over the easy one, even if it means going against his own party.

When was the last time Obama showed the courage to cross party lines? No, he does just what he’s supposed to do.

Obama’s acceptance speech was full of the same old Democratic Party lines.  Strikes a chord like telling their itching ears exactly what they want to hear. McCain went so far as to blast his own party for allowing corruption and power-grabbing to define their agenda.

When it came time to pick a running-mate, the “change you can believe in” man picked a powerful, old, white, Washington insider — the safe choice.  McCain picked the outsider with a real record of taking on the establishment.

More contrasts, just for fun…

  • Democrats talk about all-inclusiveness.
  • McCain lives in a multi-racial family and chose a running-mate based on her qualifications.
  • Obama hangs out with whoever he thinks can further his career at the time, then disses them later behind their back.
  • McCain chooses his friends carefully and isn’t afraid to tell them to their face when he disagrees with them.
  • Michelle Obama has spent a career doing… frankly, I don’t know what, but she’s more proud of herself than her country.
  • Cindy McCain goes all around the world helping innocent victims of genocide, poverty and war.
  • Obama uses public service to further his career.
  • McCain uses his career to serve his country - and did that long before he ever thought of running for office.
  • The Obama campaign doesn’t think we should talk about Michelle, who is actively campaigning for her husband, when she makes bone-headed remarks in public interviews.
  • The media can’t find much dirt on Palin or McCain, so they go after Palin’s teen-aged daughter, retread stories about her husband’s 20+ year old DUI arrest and make up absurd lies about the parentage of her little baby.  I’d think that was low for the Sun or National Enquirer, but this stuff is on all the major news networks!  See the Top 7 Myths, Lies and Untruths About Sarah Palin.
  • The Democrats’ theme is all about a government that gives you lots of stuff and makes those mean rich people pay for it.
  • McCain’s theme is all about putting “Country First,” stepping up and serving your neighbors, getting government out of your way and letting you achieve your God-given potential.
  • After Obama’s acceptance speech at the DNC, McCain took out an ad congratulating him on an historic accomplishment, and mentioned the same in his own acceptance speech.
  • After McCain’s speech, the Obama campaign just kept up with the same old stuff.
  • Notice I haven’t mentioned Joe Biden yet?  Neither did anyone else.
  • Sarah Palin has excited the public and energized her party.
  • Obama is really good at giving speeches about ruffling feathers.
  • McCain has a long record of actually doing it.

So ask yourself the question.  Do you want a great orator who follows party lines or a proven fighter who leads by example?

Not too hard a choice when you think for yourself.

Palin Smacks Down Obama

Did you see the thumping Sarah Palin gave to the Obama camp Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention? Between jabs at the eloquent public speaker without a real plan, she simultaneously energized the party and proved herself far more capable than the leftist media ever gave her credit for.

Sarah Palin at the RNC: Full Video

Here’s the transcript so you can read along.

Update: RNC finally posted the full speech.  The video above has been updated accordingly.

While you’re at it, enjoy some of Rudy Giuliani serving up a “Nada” sandwich.
