St. Nancy

A friend sent me this.  I have no idea who wrote it or where it originated, but it’s hilarious. Just don’t try to pass it off as true. You all know how I hate that.

On a Saturday afternoon, in Washington, D. C., House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s aide visited the Cardinal of the Catholic cathedral.

He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the nextday’s sermon, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi tothe congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.

The Cardinal replied, “No. I don’t really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Pelosi’s views.”Pelosi’s aide then said, “Look. I’ll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to your church if you’ll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint.”

The Cardinal thought about it and said, “Well, the church can use the money, so I’ll work your request into tomorrow’s sermon.” As Pelosi’s aide promised, House Speaker Pelosi appeared for the Sunday sermon and seated herself prominently at the edge of the main aisle.

And, during the sermon, as promised, the Cardinal pointed out that House Speaker Pelosi was present.

Then the Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation — “While Speaker Pelosi’s presence is probably an honor to some, she is not my favorite person. Some of her views are contrary to those of the church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other views. Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker, and a nit-wit. Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief. Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever personally witnessed. She married for money and is using it to lie to the American people. She also has a reputation for shirking her Representative obligations both in Washington, and in California. She simply is not to be trusted.”

The Cardinal completed his view of Pelosi with,

“But, when compared to Senators Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, and John Kerry, House Speaker Pelosi is a saint.”

Aliens at Inauguration?

Have you seen this video circulating of a UFO at President Obama’s inauguration? There’s a blur in the sky that no one can identify. Personally, I think it’s Kryptonian in nature.

What I really want to know is this. What is that thing hanging from the scaffold?  It looks like a guy hanging from a noose.  What’s that all about?

Note: The first video was removed from YouTube.  This is the second video, but it’s even cooler than the first.

It’s the End of the World as We Know It

Found this great article on 5 Ways the World Could End.

Funny thing is global warming isn’t one of them.  Oh and for those you hippies still stuck in the 70’s, a new ice age ain’t gonna kill us all either.

Turns out the earth has actually been warmer than it is now during most of its history. Life seems to have carried on just fine all that time.

If you really want to know about the final days of Planet Earth, I suggest you read the Book of Revelation.

Never Find Out

So who is really responsible for the financial mess we’re in? Who’s benefiting from the misfortune of millions of Americans?  More importantly, what kind of country will this be if we give those responsible even more power?  Watch this video to find out.

Wait, it gets better. Guess who received campaign contributions from the people who drove Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae into the ground?  Barack Obama, Christopher Dodd and John Kerry.

Floccinaucinihilipilification?

Is the stock market worthless? How about your home? What about all those other investments? The truth is, yes. They will all wither and fade away.

Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 2:11 NIV

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:25-34 NIV

Put your trust in something that won’t fade away. When you realize that everything you have belongs to God and that He will always take care of you, nothing that happens in Wall Street or Washington can take it away.

Note to the Rumor Mongers

I got another email from one of those notorious people who pass along anything that will make the UN or democrats look bad (true or false).  This one claimed the UN was removing the Holocaust from its educational curriculum (The UN has one of those?) like General Eisenhower warned us they would.

Here was my response.

“Once again, you’re passing around a false rumor.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/holocaust.asp

“The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the principles of Christianity are strong enough to stand on their own without the help of lies or half truths.

“The UN may be an evil, often absurd, organization, but nonsense like this just works against sane people who want to point out its real shortcomings.

“On that same note, Obama is not a Muslim.  He may be a completely misguided liberal controlled by the Democratic puppet-masters, but he’s not a Muslim.

“I appreciate hearing from you, but would appreciate it more if you check the facts before bearing false witness against your neighbor.”

I know that sounds a bit harsh, but I think it’s counter-productive and hypocritical to use lies to call the people I disagree with liars.
